Rehabilitation center
First sketch.
Sketch proposal of a rehabilitation center in Nørrebro, Copenhagen. Inspired by the functionality of monasteries, I wanted to use architecture to begin a process of healing. I therefore populated the project with social rooms, spiritual rooms and cells. I tried to keep the facade as anonymous as possible to enhance the difference between the view of the interior and the outer skin. During the project I was studying the interior landscapes created by Swedish architect Gunner Asplund’s “Villa Snellman”. I attempted to translate his use of proportions to affect the perception of the different spaces on behalf of the visitor.
