Train station
The planned circle-line with the Rosengård station marked as a cross.
Small and big movements - Train station in Malmö
For my final project I chose to design a train station in Malmö, Sweden. A station to help to tie the city and its citizens together. The station will be placed on the edge to the borough of Rosengård. A part of the city which, since being built, has been cut off from Malmö by a elevated railway, running from the north to the south, limiting the possibility of getting into the city to specific tunnels and viaducts. I was looking at different crossings in the city to see what characterized them and then chose to place my station as a cross over the major road out of the city center crossed by the existing railway. By doing this I use the station to tie four areas together in stead of two.
Another big part of the project consisted of solving the logistics of the traffic, vehicle, bicycles and pedestrians, around the junction.
